Why did Reporter Glenn Greenwald say this about the Socialist Liberal Media (SLIME)?...

"...they are far more servants to political power than adversarial watchdogs over it, and what provokes their rage most is not corruption on the part of those in power (they don’t care about that) but rather those who expose that corruption, especially when the ones bringing transparency are outside of, even hostile to, their incestuous media circles..."

Greenwald
was responding to Meet The Press Host, David Gregory, who asked him:

"...To the extent that you have aided and abetted Snowden, [the NSA Leaker] even in his current movements, why shouldn’t you, Mr. Greenwald, be charged with a crime?...”

Andrew Ross Sorkin @ CNBC said on CNBC's "Squakbox," that in addition to apprehending NSA leaker, Edward Snowden, he'd almost arrest Glenn Greenwald too (for releasing the story).  According to Matt Wilstein at Mediaite:

“...I would arrest him,” Sorkin continued, referring to Snowden, “and now I would almost arrest Glenn Greenwald, who’s the journalist who seems to want to help him get to Ecuador.”

Greenwald told Eric Wemple (Washington Post) that the media were:

"...just courtiers doing what courtiers have always done: defending the royal court and attacking anyone who challenges or dissents from it. That’s how they maintain their status and access within it. That’s what courtiers to power, by definition, do..."

Interestingly Sorkin responded to Greenwald on Twitter, apparently backing off from his statement, stating:

"...just to be 100% clear: i am not saying you or any journalists should be arrested. i'm FOR transparency. i was raising other q's..."

But a transcript quote by the Eric Wemple Blog clearly shows what Sorkin originally proposed was quoted correctly.

And here's the video with the question by Gregory, which Greenwald answered so eloquently:
